BC Get Lookups

Retrieves reference data lists from Business Central, such as units of measure, item categories, tax groups, and currencies.

Purpose

Use this task to fetch the valid codes and values used by other Business Central fields before creating or updating records. For example, run this task to obtain valid Base Unit Of Measure codes, Item Category codes, or Tax Group codes, then pass those values into a BC Item Operations task. This avoids hard-coding reference values and keeps your workflow in sync with the data held in Business Central.

Inputs

Lookup Type	Dropdown	Yes	The type of reference data to retrieve. Determines which list is returned.
Company	Text	No	The name or ID of the Business Central company to retrieve data from. Not required when Lookup Type is Companies.

Visibility Rules

Company is only shown when Lookup Type is set to any value other than Companies.

Operations

Operation	Description
Companies	Retrieves all Business Central companies available in the tenant. Does not require a Company to be specified.
Units of Measure	Retrieves the list of unit of measure codes for the specified company.
Item Categories	Retrieves the list of item category codes for the specified company.
Inventory Posting Groups	Retrieves the list of inventory posting group codes for the specified company.
General Product Posting Groups	Retrieves the list of general product posting group codes for the specified company.
Tax Groups	Retrieves the list of tax group codes for the specified company.
Payment Terms	Retrieves the list of payment term codes for the specified company.
Currencies	Retrieves the list of currency codes for the specified company.

Units of Measure	A list of unit of measure entries. Available when Lookup Type is Units of Measure.
Item Categories	A list of item category entries. Available when Lookup Type is Item Categories.
Inventory Posting Groups	A list of inventory posting group entries. Available when Lookup Type is Inventory Posting Groups.
General Product Posting Groups	A list of general product posting group entries. Available when Lookup Type is General Product Posting Groups.
Tax Groups	A list of tax group entries. Available when Lookup Type is Tax Groups.
Payment Terms	A list of payment term entries. Available when Lookup Type is Payment Terms.
Currencies	A list of currency entries. Available when Lookup Type is Currencies.
