Using Document Composer from DocControl Transmittal

The DocControl Transmittal tool can use Document Composer to generate formatted transmittal documents — such as cover sheets, registers, or delivery notes — as part of the transmittal process.

Prerequisites

  • A Document Composer template configured for transmittal output must exist in Studio.
  • The template's bindings should reference transmittal data fields (transmittal number, date, project, document list, recipients, etc.).

What Happens at Runtime

When a transmittal is generated, DocControl passes the transmittal data context to the Document Composer Engine. The Engine fills the selected template with the transmittal's metadata and document list, and produces the output document.

The generated document is then included as part of the transmittal output — for example, as a PDF cover sheet attached alongside the transmitted files.
